37 patients checked for COVID-19 remain in hospitals
MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-seven patients being investigated for the fatal novel coronavirus are still admitted in hospitals, figures from Department of Health (DOH) showed Thursday.
Based on the DOH’s tracker for patients under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19, there are now 669 PUIs for the deadly virus in the country.
Of this number, 629 have already been discharged from their respective hospitals and health centers.
The health department said they recorded 614 patients under investigation who tested negative for the disease.
Meanwhile, the DOH is still waiting for 12 specimens still with the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa City, which will confirm samples for COVID-19.
DOH has not recorded any cases of local transmission for the coronavirus.
