Pagasa: Mindanao, parts of Visayas to experience rains due to LPA
MANILA, Philippines— A low-pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rains over Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas, the state weather bureau said Thursday.
In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last spotted 555 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods and landslides in the affected areas due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rain showers.
The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Rains will also prevail in the Bicol region due to the tail end of a cold front, Pagasa said.
Residents of Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
