Trader shot dead in Southern Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY –– A businessman was shot dead by still unidentified assailants in Maasin City, Southern Leyte on Tuesday night.

Proebel Flores, 48, was about to enter his apartment located at FJJ Big Purok Kulo of Barangay Abgao about 8:30 p.m. when the two suspects appeared and shot the victim several times using a caliber .45 pistol.

Flores suffered multiple bullet wounds on his head and other parts of his body.

The Maasin City Police report showed that the suspects took the victim’s motorcycle and cash worth P50,000 hidden at the U-box of his vehicle.

Investigators have yet to identify the motive behind the killing and the identities of the assailants./lzb
