Four men killed by their drinking mate in QC

MANILA, Philippines—Four men were killed by their drinking buddy who suddenly ran amok during their drinking session before dawn Friday in Quezon City, police said.

Case investigator Police Officer 1 Alvin Quisumbing of the Quezon City Police District identified the victims as Roberto Garduce, 34; Teudulfo Glory, 52; Roel Galinero, legal age; and Sergio de la Rosa, 47. The suspect, he said, was Robert Estorque.

Quisumbing said that the victims were already sleeping after getting drunk in their drinking session along Sitio (sub-village) San Roque Barangay (village) Bagong Pagasa, QC around 5 a.m. when one of them was awaken by the voice of Estorque threatening to kill a certain Reggie. When he wasn’t able to find his target, Estorque walked towards sleeping drinking mate Garduce and, without any provocation, stabbed Garduce several times with a kitchen knife.

Hearing the noise, Glory was also awaken, but was also repeatedly stabbed, as well as the two other victims Galinero and de la Rosa, Quisumbing said.

After his stabbing all of his drinking mates, Estorque laid down near the body of Galanera and stabbed himself, the investigator said.

All of them were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center but only Estorque survived from his stabbing spree, he said.

Quisumbing said two kitchen knives were recovered from the crime scene.

He said that the suspect will be charged with four counts of murder.
