Man wanted for murder dead in firefight with Quezon cops

LUCENA CITY –– A wanted criminal was killed after he allegedly resisted arrest and shot the policemen in Tiaong town in Quezon province on Sunday.

A Quezon police report said Hadjaraszad Cartina, 28, using his caliber .45 pistol shot two police officers but missed during the serving of the warrant of arrest in Barangay Bukal around 1 p.m.


The cops fired back, hitting the suspect in different parts of the body.

Cartina, who was wanted for murder in a case filed at the Regional Trial Court in Cabuyao City, Laguna, died while being taken to Liwag Hospital at the town center.


The police reportedly recovered a gun and a hand grenade from the suspect.
