MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.9 quake rocked the coast off Davao Occidental on Saturday afternoon, state seismologists said.
Based on the initial earthquake bulletin, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 393 kilometers (kms) southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental at 5:28 p.m.
The tremor which was of tectonic origin had a depth of 162 kms, Phivolcs said.
No aftershocks and damage will be expected from the 4.9-magnitude quake.
