BAGUIO CITY –– A La Union vendor, who is wanted for a rape case in that province, was caught here on Friday (Feb. 28) for abducting an 11-year-old girl, Police Colonel Allen Rae Co, Baguio City police director, said on Saturday (Feb. 29).

Security cameras recorded Sammy Nonog Pacle, 27, boarding a taxi with the elementary school girl, who was reported missing by her parents on Thursday night (Feb. 27).

A vendor at the Baguio City Public Market recognized Pacle when the police showed him the footage and provided them information about his whereabouts.

The police caught Pacle at a rented apartment along Asin Road, where they rescued the child, who had been sexually assaulted. Investigators said Pacle threatened to kill the girl if she refused to go with him.

The police were armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Ferdinand Fe of the Regional Trial Court Branch 67 in the La Union town of Bauang, where Pacle is facing a rape complaint./lzb
