2 suspected drug pushers killed in QC

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a shootout with anti-drug operatives of the Novaliches Police Station in Quezon City on Friday.

According to a police report, suspects Welito Bantilo and Christian Mark Sulit from Calamba, Laguna, were in front of SM Novaliches in Quirino Highway, where they tried to strike a drug deal with an undercover policeman. But police said the suspects sensed they were transacting with a policeman, pulled out their firearm but were killed during a brief shootout.—MARIEJO S. RAMOS
