Construction worker nabbed for drugs, unlicensed gun

LEGAZPI CITY – A construction worker was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs at a checkpoint in Sorsogon City Thursday night.

Col. Roque Bausa, Sorsogon police chief, said that Hermogenes Agullana Jr., 40, a resident of Barangay Paciano Riverside in Calamba City, Laguna, was on his motorcycle when he was flagged down in Barangay Pangpang, West District at around 9:10 p.m.

During the inspection, Agullana dropped a handgun grip cover and tried to escape, but was arrested by the police officers manning the checkpoint.

Seized from the suspect were an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol and a sachet of shabu.
