8chan founder facing arrest for cyberlibel

/ 05:46 AM February 28, 2020

The founder of 8chan, the message board used by extremists in several deadly shootings in 2019, has been issued a warrant of arrest by a Pasig City court over a cyberlibel complaint.

Fredrick Brennan, who left 8chan in 2015 and has since become a critic of the Philippine-based website, was charged with cyberlibel by his successor and current 8chan (now 8kun) owner James Watkins, whom he described as “senile” and “incompetent” in his 2019 tweets.

Brennan is married to a Filipino.
