BANSALAN, DAVAO DEL SUR –– A magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolted Cotabato on Thursday morning, the latest tremor to hit Mindanao in recent weeks.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck 14-kilometers northwest of Makilala at 9:03 a.m., Thursday and had a depth of focus of two kilometers, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at Intensity V in Kidapawan City and Tulunan town; Intensity III in Malungon, Sarangani; Intensity II in Koronadal City and Tupi, South Cotabato; and Intensity I in Alabel, Sarangani.
Phivolcs said no damage nor aftershocks were to be expected.
