Birthday boy, 6, drowns in Quezon
LUCENA CITY –– A birthday party turned into a tragedy after the celebrant, a 6-year-old boy, drowned in a private resort in Catanauan town in Quezon province on Tuesday.
A report from the Quezon police identified the victim as Mico Dre Batario, a resident of Barangay 8 Poblacion.
The report said the victim’s family was celebrating the boy’s birthday at Marc and Marcy’s resort in Barangay Matandang Sabang Kanluran when the tragic incident happened around 10 p.m.

Police said the boy drowned at the swimming pool of the said resort.
The victim was rushed to the Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital at the town center but died along the way.
