CA panel recommends Avisado’s confirmation as DBM chief

MANILA, Philippines — The ad interim appointment of Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado has been recommended for confirmation by a panel of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA).

CA’s Committee on Budget and Management approved the recommendation on Avisado’s ad interim appointment in a hearing on Wednesday.

The panel’s recommendation would be transmitted for approval at the plenary.

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Avisado in August 2019.

Avisado previously served as Davao City administrator from 2004 to 2010 under then-Mayor Duterte.

In 2010, Avisado was appointed Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council  assistant secretary to then HUDCC chairman and Vice President Jejomar Binay.
