Winning athletes from Pasig get cash incentives from local gov’t
MANILA, Philippines — Athletes from Pasig who have won in sports competitions, including the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) and the 2019 Singapore Asia Pacific Arts Festival, received cash rewards from the local government of Pasig.
In a post on Tuesday, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said he provided cash incentives to the winners ranging from P10,000 to P75,000.
Kahapon, nagkaroon kami ng pagkakataong parangalan ang mga Atletang Pasigueño na nanalo sa iba't ibang kompetisyon.
Kabilang sa kanila ang 5 nating #SEAGames2019 GOLD MEDALISTS🏅. Nakatanggap sila ng 75k pesos each.

Based on Sotto’s complete list posted on Facebook, individual gold medalists received P75,000 each, gold team members received P10,000 each, while for individuals who won silver medals received P50,000 each. Meanwhile, P25,000 was given for bronze medalists.
Aside from athletes, coaches of gold medalists received P10,000, Sotto said.

In the 2019 Singapore Asia Pacific Arts, Athletes Hana Yshin Ranchez (Rhythmic Gymnastics, gold; Small Group Contemporary, gold); Jennica Rose Jose (Rhythmic Gymnastic, gold) and Christy Ariola (coach) also received cash rewards.
Winners of the recent TOT Baseball Tournament also got cash incentives from the government with P2,000 for player and coach of first-place teams and P1,000 for second place teams.
