7th patient under observation in Quezon is COVID-19 negative
LUCENA CITY – The seventh patient under observation in Quezon tested negative for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), health officials said.
The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), in a public advisory released at 5 p.m. Monday, revealed that the laboratory test results of the patient were COVID-19 negative.
The patient has since been discharged from the hospital.
The six other patients have also tested negative for the virus and were already discharged from hospitals.
The advisory stated that as of Monday, Quezon remained COVID-19 free.
The IPHO also disclosed that 39 of the 52 individuals classified as persons under monitoring (PUM), or possible COVID-19 carriers, had already completed their 14-day mandatory home quarantine and were not showing signs or symptoms of the disease.
The 13 others are still under home quarantine and are being monitored by health workers.
The public advisory was signed by Dr. Grace Santiago, Quezon health officer, and Dr. Anneavbit Talan-De Luna, provincial medical coordinator.
The IPHO maintained that patients being monitored for COVID-19 should not cause public alarm.
It explained that the figures were the result of strengthened surveillance and monitoring carried out by community health workers.
