Palace: No politics in raps over Dengvaxia use

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Sunday insisted that there was no politics involved in the criminal charges filed against former Health Secretary Janette Garin and several other health department officials over the use of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine in the government’s inoculation program.

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the fact that charges were filed shows that there was prima facie evidence that a crime was committed and the charges would undergo due process.—Julie M. Aurelio
