Feb. 23 to 28: Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga
The city of Zamboanga in Zamboanga del Sur province celebrates its 83rd charter anniversary.
Among the activities in the last week of the festival are sepak takraw tournament, hiphop dance competition, grand civic-military parade and job fair.
Feb. 23 to 29: Cagsawa Festival
Culmination of the monthlong festival in Daraga, Albay province, commemorating the 206th anniversary of the 1814 eruption of Mayon Volcano that destroyed Cagsawa Church.
Only the belfry and some parts of the convent of the centuries-old church, which became a tourist attraction, remain after the eruption.
Activities include regional dance showdown, music festival, LGBT volleyball tournament and motorcross competition.
Feb. 25 to 27: Asin Festival
Salt, the leading product of Dasol in Pangasinan province, is showcased in a four-day festival that also pays tribute to the town’s salt farmers.
Activities include a fluvial parade, agri-tourism farm tour, field demonstration, “laro ng lahi” and cultural and community night.
