MANILA, Philippines — Thirty Filipinos, who were evacuated from Wuhan City of Hubei province in China, are now asymptomatic and will leave the quarantine site in New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac province on Saturday, an official from the Department of Health (DOH) said Friday.

Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the mandatory 14-day quarantine of the repatriated Filipinos from Wuhan is set to lapse on Saturday.

“All the quarantined individuals have not shown signs and symptoms of fever, cough or sore throat during their 14-day stay. They will now be allowed to go back to their respective homes and places,” Vergeire told reporters in a press briefing at the DOH main office.

Aside from the 30 repatriates, 19 crew members who assisted the repatriates in the New Clark City will also leave the quarantine facility.

It can be recalled that on Feb. 9, a team from the Department of Foreign Affairs and DOH mobilized the repatriation of 30 Filipinos from Wuhan City, where the COVID-19 originated.
