Gamboa orders nationwide accounting of police pensioners

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa has ordered the Pension and Retirement Benefits Administration Service (PRBS) to undertake nationwide accounting of pensioners in the country’s police force.

Gamboa directed the nationwide accounting as he signed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) 2020-001 titled, “Policies and Guidelines in the Conduct of Accounting, Monitoring and Periodic Audit of Pensioners for the Protection of the PNP Pension Fund.”

Under the SOP, updating the status of police pensioners may be done at local police stations starting February 24 up to March 17, 2020.

Gamboa said in a statement that nationwide accounting may only be done if the PRBS data of pensioners is complete and if biometrics of PNP pensioners are registered in their system.

Police pensioners are advised to go to their nearest PRBS Regional Office to schedule appointments for their accounts update.

Pensioners must also bring original and photocopies of their documents that include identification cards and ATM cards.
