Two men allegedly selling liquid “shabu” (crystal meth) online were arrested on Thursday by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Mandaluyong City.

PDEA director general Aaron Aquino said that Mark Kenneth San Juan, 23; and Jeffrey Saclao, 28, both of Makati City, yielded 26 syringes of liquid shabu worth P52,000, 2 grams of shabu worth P13,600 and drug paraphernalia.

The duo was arrested by PDEA special enforcement services agents outside a fast-food restaurant on Guevarra Street in Barangay Highway Hills.

According to Aquino, the suspects used Twitter and Grindr, a networking and online dating app catering to gay, bi and trans people, to sell drugs.

Through social networking sites, a poseur-buyer got in touch with the suspects and arranged the meeting at the fastfood restaurant. As soon as the exchange was completed, PDEA agents arrested San Juan and Saclao.

The suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office.
