To help prevent road accidents and deter criminals, the Caloocan government will be installing three to four closed-circuit TV cameras  in 222 locations in the city.

Col. Dario Menor, the new Caloocan police chief, confirmed on Tuesday that he had met with Oliver Hernandez, city administrator, to start the implementation of the Safe Philippines project initiated by the interior department.

The 600 to 800 CCTV cameras, to be spread out over the city with a land area of 53.33 sq. km., would dwarf that of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

As of March 2018, the MMDA had around 300 CCTV cameras installed in different areas in the metropolis with a land area of 619.6 sq. km.
