MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon or amihan will prevail over Luzon and Visayas in the next 24 hours, the state weather bureau said Wednesday afternoon.
In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said areas that may experience cloudy skies and light rains are the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Panay Island, Samar provinces, and Biliran.
“No significant impact”, however, may be expected in these areas, Pagasa noted.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to amihan, according to Pagasa.
Meanwhile, a localized thunderstorm will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Mindanao. Pagasa warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau likewise said that no weather system is expected to develop or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next three to five days.
