Man nabbed in QC for possession of gun, grenade
MANILA, Philippines — Police nabbed a man in Quezon City on Tuesday morning for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and an explosive.
During the service of a search warrant at the house of Adzman Tanjal, 32, the Quezon City police said a hand grenade, a caliber .45 pistol and a magazine loaded with six bullets were seized.
The search was implemented by police at Libya St. Salaam Compound, Brgy. Culiat Quezon City at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Police said the suspect is now detained at the Quezon City Police District. The unlicensed pistol and grenade were also taken into custody by the police. Police are also investigating Tanjal for possible links with the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group.
Meanwhile, a police officer during the search accidentally shot his left foot with his M16 rifle. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment and is now currently safe and recovering.
