TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — Nineteen Chinese nationals who arrived here aboard four dredging vessels over the weekend were immediately isolated and checked for possible infection of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, according to Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba
On Sunday, Mamba said an inter-agency team, including local health officers, were closely monitoring the Chinese who came from the Port of Santa Cruz in Zambales province.
According to Mamba, the Chinese have no recent travel history to China or other coronavirus-hit countries, but the isolation is part of the precautionary measures of the province.
The dredging vessels that carried the Chinese are registered under the Riverfront Construction Inc., which is located in Mandaluyong City, and under a certain Feng Li, who serves as company president and chief executive officer.
Li’s company has been included in the provincial board’s inquiry into the issue of black sand mining here.
