Suspected drug pusher slain in Camarines Norte buy-bust

LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Talisay town in Camarines Norte province on Sunday morning.

Col. Marlon Tejada, Camarines Norte police chief, said that Marcil Malasa, a high value target, drew his gun and attempted to engage in a shootout after noticing that he was transacting with an undercover police at 5:10 a.m. in Barangay (village) Itomang. This prompted the authorities to shoot the suspect.

Malasa sustained bullet wounds and died while being taken to the hospital.

Recovered from the slain suspect was a large heat-sealed sachet with suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) weighing 50 grams with an estimated street value of P250,000 and a caliber .38.
