Rains expected over Southern Luzon, parts of Visayas and Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of the country will experience rains as the tail-end of a cold front affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and a wind convergence prevailing over Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Thursday.

In its latest weather bulletin, Pagasa said that Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Skies will become cloudy with widespread rains over the Eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao which may trigger fashfloods and landslides.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon with experience mostly cloudy skies with rains, the state-run weather bureau said.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to occasionally strong coming from the Northeast and East with moderate to occasionally rough seas,” Pagasa added.
