MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robredo gave employees of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) flowers on Friday, Valentine’s Day.
In photos sent by the OVP, Robredo was seen handing roses to employees at the Quezon City Reception House where she currently holds office. The Vice President also visited employees in Naga City on Thursday to greet them.
According to the OVP, the giving of flowers on Valentine’s Day has been a tradition started by Robredo’s late husband, former Interior Secretary, and former Naga City mayor Jesse Robredo.
Though not a holiday, Valentine’s Day is widely celebrated in the Philippines by couples and single people alike.
