MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Friday says it is processing the early release of shipments of face masks amid the rising demand due to the threat of COVID-19.

“With the increasing demand for face/surgical masks brought about by the COVID-19 epidemic, the Bureau of Customs remains at service to the public as it ensures prompt processing and release of face/surgical masks,” it said in a statement on Friday.

The BOC said it has been speeding up the release of the shipments since the discovery of the disease.
