Woman in Olongapo City under watch for COVID-19
OLONGAPO CITY –– A 47-year-old woman has been admitted to a hospital here and was listed as a patient under investigation (PUI) for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a local health official said.
Dr. Rodrick Bustamante, head of the Olongapo City Health Office, on Thursday said the patient had a travel history to Taiwan and voluntarily reached out to health authorities.
Taiwan was recently included in a temporary travel ban due to the global outbreak of COVID-19.
In a radio interview, Bustamante said the woman showed flu-like symptoms, such as cough and cold.
The patient is the first PUI case in this city, Bustamante said.
