MANILA, Philippines — Former Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle is now in Vatican City to assume his new post as Prefect of the Vatican Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
Photos of Cardinal Tagle in his new office were posted by Catholic faith-based radio station Radyo Veritas on Facebook on Wednesday night.
Cardinal Tagle was the Archbishop of Manila from 2011 to 2020 before he was appointed by Pope Francis to his new post.
He left the Philippines after celebrating Holy Mass at the Manila Cathedral on Sunday.
Bishop Broderick Pabillo now serves as the apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila, which is now considered “sede vacante” meaning “the seat being vacant” in Latin.
