MANILA, Philippines — Some 20 police generals and colonels will be reshuffled soon, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa revealed Thursday.
He clarified that the revamp is due to the retirement of some PNP generals.
“Today I am issuing probably around 20 generals and colonels for another reshuffle. The reason behind this is because of the retirement of generals in the PNP, hence the reshuffle,” Gamboa said in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel.
He added that more officials will be reshuffled as the PNP evaluates the performance of its men every month.
“These are the basis kung magrerelieve ako or magrereshuffle,” Gamboa explained.
In October 2019, Gamboa, who was still the PNP officer-in-charge, ordered the reshuffle of 20 key officials.
This month, Gamboa ordered the relief of the director of Police Regional Office Central Visayas and the reassignment of other police officials.
