MANILA, Philippines — Two southbound lanes of Balintawak will not be passable to motorists starting Sunday morning (Feb. 16) to make way for the construction of the Skyway Stage 3 project, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Wednesday.
In a press briefing at MMDA’s main office, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said the closure would start at 12 a.m. of Sunday.
Aside from this, Garcia said one lane from A. Bonifacio going to North Luzon Expressway would also be closed from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 15).
The Skyway Stage 3 project aims to slash travel time between the southern and northern parts of Metro Manila.
Previously, the San Miguel Corporation announced that the opening of the Skyway would be delayed until July after 300 meters of the elevated expressway was damaged due to a fire in Pandacan.
