Philippines ranks 5th in global career outlook—LinkedIn
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines ranked 5th in global career outlook, a study by LinkedIn, a social networking platform for professionals, showed.
According to LinkedIn’s 2020 Opportunity Index, the Philippines landed 5th among 22 countries in terms of optimism in career opportunities, preceded only to India, Indonesia, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
“Developing economies like India, Indonesia, China, United Arab Emirates, and the Philippines are more optimistic than developed economies like Japan, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom,” LinkedIn said in its report.
Developed countries, meanwhile, experienced a perceived drop-off in generational opportunity, LinkedIn noted.
The study used a quantitative 20-minute online survey fielded by an independent market research firm commissioned by LinkedIn and was conducted between September and October 2019.
It utilized 30,000 respondents, aged 18 to 65, across various life stages and household income groups.
