MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Wednesday announced that some roads would be closed to give way for the construction of the Skyway Extension project which would ease traffic congestion in Southern Manila.
In a press conference on Wednesday, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said the following roads would not be passable to motorists starting Feb. 16 (Sunday):
-Hillsborough Off-ramp closed at 6 a.m.
-Lane 3 Southbound, at-grade from Sucat to Alabang closed at 6 a.m.
-South Station Exit is closed starting 6 a.m., motorists should take Filinvest Exit
Only the Alabang-Zapote Northbound ramp is open starting Feb. 16 from Monday to Friday at 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Garcia advised bus drivers and heavy vehicles to not enter the southbound portion of the elevated Skyway.
Garcia said the roads are expected to be closed for less than three months, depending on the construction work.
