2 dead, 1 hurt in Quezon road mishaps
LUCENA CITY –– Two persons died, while another one was injured in two separate vehicular accidents in Quezon province on Tuesday.
A report from the Quezon police, said motorcyclist Nelson Manimtim, 20, collided with an incoming van being driven by Edelito Andaya in one section of the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Lusacan, Tiaong around 8 p.m.
Manimtim suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.
Police said the victim overtook another vehicle and did not notice the oncoming van that resulted in the accident.
Andaya was detained at the local police jail.
In Gumaca town, owner-type jeep driver Marino Sadsad, 55, lost control of his vehicle and bumped the motorcycle being ridden by Philip Andal along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Villa Padua around 4:45 p.m.

Article continues after this advertisementA report said Sadsad suffered grave injuries, and died while being taken to the Gumaca District Hospital at the town center.
Andal, who also suffered multiple injuries was confined at RAKKK Hospital at the town center.
