MANILA, Philippines — “Unnecessary discussions” between traffic violators and enforcers could hopefully be avoided after ride-hailing giant Grab donated to the Manila City government 200 traffic signs and 50 body cameras on Monday.
“This donation is a good way of monitoring violations of both the enforcers and ordinance violators. Because of [heavy] traffic, hotheadedness and exhaustion, arguments on the road cannot be prevented,” said Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, who signed a deed of donation with Grab.
The body cameras would be distributed to enforcers and staffers of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.
