MANILA, Philippines — The arrival of repatriated Filipinos from China at the Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga, will not disrupt the normal operations of the airport, the Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (Lipad), the consortium that operates and maintains the airport has assured on Friday.
“Clark International Airport is ready to assist the government in the facilitation of their arrival and at the same time, assures the public that normal airport operations in the main passenger terminal will not be affected by this activity,” Lipad, which oversees operations of the CRK, said in a statement.
Lipad explained that although the aircraft carrying the repatriated Filipinos will land at the CRK, the passengers “will not use the airport’s Main Terminal Building as they will be processed in a separate area.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) earlier agreed to repatriate Filipinos from China who are at risk of contracting the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) which has so far killed 630 people.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health is also preparing a quarantine facility at the Athlete’s Village at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac for the Filipinos who will be repatriated from China.
