Chinese woman checked in Bohol tests negative for coronavirus

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol—The 31-year-old Chinese woman who had been among five persons in Bohol monitored for novel coronavirus (nCoV) had been discharged from the hospital on Friday (Feb. 7), a health official said.

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the provincial government’s anti-nCoV technical working group, said the patient was allowed to go home after her results of tests on her second swab sample showed she was negative for nCoV. The test was done at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.

Lopez said the initial reason for the woman’s admission to the hospital was hemorrhoids but checks had to be made when the woman developed fever.

“Now, she is very well and healthy,” Lopez said.
