MANILA, Philippines — The Sevilla Bridge that connects Mandaluyong City and San Juan City will be closed over the weekend to allow the transfer of equipment needed in the Skyway Stage 3 project, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Friday.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the Sevilla Bridge will be closed from Feb. 8 (Saturday) at 10 p.m. to Feb. 9 (Sunday) at 5 a.m.
The MMDA said the project contractor will be transferring barges and cranes needed in the construction of the Skyway Stage 3 elevated expressway.
The Skyway Stage 3 project aims to slash travel time between the southern and northern parts of Metro Manila.
“The contractor for the Skyway Stage 3 project will transfer their equipment (barges and cranes) downstream,” the MMDA said.
Motorists are advised by the MMDA to take alternate routes and avoid the Sevilla Bridge area where heavy traffic is expected.
