DID YOU KNOW (common baby names in 2018)

According to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, Civil Registration Service and the Vital Statistics Division, the most common baby names for boys in 2018 were Nathaniel (2,455), James (2,242), Jacob (2,028), Gabriel (2,004) and Joshua (1,980). For girls, the most popular were Althea (2,395), Samantha (2,165), Angel (2,086), Angela (1,810) and Princess (1,641). This was the fourth consecutive year Nathaniel topped the list for baby boys and the third consecutive year for Althea for baby girls. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
