Lucena store owner gunned down

LUCENA CITY –– A mini-hardware store owner was shot and killed by a masked gunman on the outskirts of this city Thursday morning.

The Lucena police reported that Jesus Estrecho, 44, was shot twice by his assailant armed with a firearm while the victim was seated and drinking coffee in front of his store in Barangay Mayao Crossing around 6 a.m. The victim died on the spot.

The gunman escaped on foot after the shooting.

Police are investigating the identity of the gunman and the motive behind the killing.
