Did You Know: 69.9% of kids aged 12-23 months vaccinated in 2017

According to the National Demographic and Health survey recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, only 69.9 percent of children between 12 and 23 months received all basic vaccines in 2017.

This was lower compared to 76.5 percent in 2013 and 79.5 percent in 2008.

Basic vaccines refer to Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) for tuberculosis, three doses of Diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus (DPT), three doses of oral polio vaccine (OPV) or inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), and one dose of measles or MMR. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
