MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) is monitoring a third possible case of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the country, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said.
“Yes. There is,” Duque told reporters on Tuesday when asked if the department if monitoring a third positive case.
“But we will give the report tomorrow. Cause we will have a Cabinet meeting mamaya (later),” he added.
Duque did not divulge further details.
“I’m not sure kung (from) Wuhan,” he noted, referring to the city in China’s Hubei province.
“Just two (positive cases) and then one will be for verification,” he added.
Over the weekend, the DOH announced that the Philippines has recorded its second case of the 2019-nCoV.
The second case, the first death recorded outside of China, was the 44-year-old companion of the Chinese woman, who was the first to test positive for the virus in the Philippines.
The two hailed from Wuhan City, the epicenter of the outbreak.
