CEBU CITY — Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has issued a new executive order detailing the quarantine procedures of Filipinos arriving from China, Hong Kong, and Macau as well as the creation of a provincial task force on the new coronavirus.

Executive Order No. 5 signed by Garcia on Monday evening imposes a quarantine of 14 days on all Filipinos and holders of Philippine Permanent Resident Visa as adopted from the order of the national government.

In Cebu, however, those entering the Province via the Mactan-Cebu International Airport will be “home quarantined” if they are residing in Cebu.

A quarantine team has also been set up to oversee the process.

“Persons identified for home quarantine shall be accompanied by the quarantine team to their residences. The quarantine team shall also inspect the residence,” the executive order stated.

The mayor, the local health officer, and the police will be informed of the procedures for proper monitoring.

There are also requirements in a house that would be approved for home quarantine.

There should be a separate bedroom where the individual can be isolated without sharing his immediate space with other households.

The order also orders adequate access to recommended protective gears inside the homes such as gloves, and face masks for all the members of the household.
