LEGAZPI CITY — The vlogger who stirred a public scandal after pretending to be a novel coronavirus (nCoV) carrier had apologized to the public and the management of a mall in Legazpi City where he pulled off a prank that went viral starting on Sunday (Feb. 2).

Crispin Roderick Tormes, mall administrator, said Marlon De Vera of the village of Bigaa, personally went to the mall management office to sayu sorry over the prank nCoV scene that sent mallgoers worried and in near panic.

In a viral video posted by a netizen, De Vera pretended to be an nCoV carrier by lying down in front of the mall gate past 4 p.m. on Sunday.

His companion was taking a video of him, as reported by the establishment’s security guard.

Tormes said right after the incident, the security division interrogated De Vera and discovered that it was just a prank.

“The mall will not file a case against him after he personally apologized to us and through media. He said he did it just to be famous,” Tormes added.

In his Youtube channel “Uragon Vlogger,” De Vera said he will suspend his vlogging prank because of what happened.

“I don’t want this to happen again because I already promised. I’m just human and I make mistakes. I hope you forgive me,” he said.
