1 dead, 6 others hurt as bus rams tricycle in Nueva Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — A woman died and six other people were seriously injured when an air-conditioned passenger bus rammed the tricycle they were riding in Aritao town on Saturday, police said.

According to investigators, Jen Gallardo-Pantig died while being brought to the hospital after she and her fellow passengers were pinned between the two vehicles.

Pantig’s 2-year-old daughter and 3-year-old nephew and four other people were taken to Nueva Vizcaya Regional Trauma Hospital, where they were pronounced in critical condition.

Police said bus driver Guilbert Taguba Domingo, 59, of Gattaran, Cagayan surrendered to authorities.
