MANILA, Philippines — Some trips of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) were temporarily suspended after tracks and the Pandacan Station were affected by a fire that engulfed a warehouse in Pandacan, Manila on Saturday.
In a phone interview, PNR spokeswoman Jo Geronimo told INQUIRER.net that they will implement partial operations because of the fire.
For the safety of passengers, Geronimo said trains will only operate from the Tutuban Station to the Sta. Mesa Station and vice versa.
The PNR will also limit trips between Governor Pascual to Sta. Mesa and vice versa, Geromino added.
Meanwhile, trips going to Alabang to the Vito Cruz Station and vice versa are suspended. Trips going to San Andres from the Pandacan Station and vice versa are also canceled, Geronimo said.
“’Yung San Andres, Paco and Pandacan hindi na siya makadiretso papuntang Sta. Mesa [The trips to San Andres, Paco and Pandacan Stations cannot cross Sta. Mesa Stations.],” she said.
Geronimo said the PNR will go back to normal operations once the fire is put out.
As of posting, the blaze has been declared under control by firefighters, according to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
