MANILA, Philippines — Adamson University on Saturday clarified that all students and faculty members who traveled to and from countries with confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus should also practice self-quarantine.

This comes after the university said that only its Chinese students, covering undergraduate and graduate programs, must observe self-quarantine for 14 days.
“All student, staff and stakeholders who have traveled to and from countries with confirmed cases of the 2019-nCov, including China and/or Hong Kong, within the last month or who may have in close contact or who had direct exposure to a potential source of infection during their travel abroad,” Adamson University said in its memorandum.
Further, the university clarified that Chinese students and guests who are not limited by the advisory can come to school.
“This Memorandum modifies the previous one released, and we apologize for the misimpression it may have created,” Adamson University said.
The new virus has claimed the lives of 259 people in China, as well as infecting thousands of others worldwide.
The World Health Organization declared the virus outbreak as a global emergency.
The Philippines, meanwhile, has one confirmed case of nCov.
