4 nabbed for illegal logs, unlicensed gun in Sorsogon

LEGAZPI CITY — Four persons were arrested for transporting illegal logs, while one of them was carrying unlicensed gun in Gubat town in Sorsogon province Friday afternoon, police said Saturday.

Colonel Roque Bausa, director of Sorsogon police, said suspects Ramon Equipado, Retchie Funelas, Demdem Quiray, and Christopher Brin were arrested around 5:30 p.m. at Payawin village in the said town.


Authorities confiscated 24 pieces of narra lumber worth about P170,000.

While conducting the search, authorities also found a caliber 9mm gun with two magazines and 10 live ammunition from Equipado, the driver of the Isuzu elf truck, which was used to transport the illegal lumber./lzb
