TACLOBAN CITY –– Two separate mild quakes were felt in Southern Leyte and Eastern Samar on Friday, January 31.
No damage was reported.
The first tremor was felt in Maasin City in Southern Leyte at 2:37 p.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor had a magnitude of 2.3 and a depth of 031 km.
Another jolt was felt in Guiuan town, Eastern Samar at 3:16 p.m.
The tremor had a magnitude of 2.9 with a depth of 041 km.
Both quakes were of tectonic in origin, the Phivolcs said./lzb
